Ang Bagong Herusalem

This is the map of the whole Mt.Banahaw, it is divided into 4 complexes. Before we go trekking, we had our orientation on what to expect and what to do during this activity.

Our Thesis Group

Originally, our group is composed of 5 members, but one of our group members is the one taking this picture. Although we did not get the chance to be complete, but still everyone contributed to finish our blog.

Macario Sakay

This photo was taken during our way to the Kalbaryo. Macario Sakay was born on 1870's, he was a Filipino general who took part in the Philippine Revolution against Spain and in the Philippine-American War.

Way to Kalbaryo

We, the Homeroom of Brother Basilio Rueda, altogether going up to the Complex 1 (Kalbaryo). It is definitely an extreme activity because there are sharp rocks ahead and you should be serious in every step that you make.

Enjoy the Nature

We were about to reach the Complex 1 or Kalbaryo and we feel good about it. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of nature and we realized that we should take care of Mother Earth.

Brothers

Harvy Almeida (right) and one of our group members, Renz Balderama (left) shows brotherhood in their way up to the Kalbaryo by helping each other. Just like in our life, we must always think of others and remove the mindset of Crab Mentality.

Say 'Cheese'

This photo was taken in the Complex 1 or the Kalbaryo. After all the challenges that I face in going up, I still smile. Always believe in yourself that you can do it.

Kalbaryo

We reached the Kalbaryo after 2 hours from the bottom of Mt.Banahaw. We thought that 200-300 were hard, but it's nothing compared to trekking the Kalbaryo. From the word itself, it's a real Cavalry.

Steepy Hill

During our way down, we felt that it is more difficult because the gravity is pulling you down.  Everyone is careful in every step that they make. Also the loose rocks are dangerous.

Rest House

After a long walk, we finally reached the rest house wherein everyone immediately take their food and water to replenish their thirst. Some shared their food with each other while some are taking pictures.

Husgado Cave

After we rested, we entered the Husgado Cave. They say that when you have a lot of sins, you will not be able to get through the cave easily. It is not easy in entering the cave because it is narrow inside and there are sharp rocks ahead.

Nature Lover

People living in the Mt.Banahaw are good examples of 'Nature Lover'. They maintain the cleanliness of the place and at the same time, they also pray and thank God for the wonderful nature that he gave them.

Anting-anting

People living in this place believe in 'anting-anting'. They say that if you have this, you will be safe. It is one of their jobs, making and selling the 'anting-anting' for around 50-500 pesos.

River Wading

Before we end our itinerary, we went river wading. The water rushing through the river is like refrigerated before. It feels good to swim in this river because it seems like all of your stress are absorbed and it's extremely rejuvenating.

At the end of the day

After all the activities we went through, we are all satisfied and grateful. Though it is our last field trip as a high school student, we learned to value each other. At the end of the day, brotherhood will always be in our hearts.
